feelin' fat.  

well, i've been working out cardio for about a year now.
lots of walking and bellydance. some biking and jogging.
just started weights 6 months ago.

doing well. have lost about 15 pounds, a few inches and 6% or so body fat.

however. this last week. family reunion and mom still in town with sister.
read: stress.

chips, dip, ice cream, eating out 2-3 times a day...
and rarely any trips to the gym.


i hate the way i feel and look this week. but i know logically i can't have gained that much.


high school reunion and dragon*con coming up. i must feel my best!!

i just read in prevention that wearing red and a belt on fat days really helps.
here's to that, everyone!

and i wanted to send encouragement to any of you having fat times right now.
i know that after i get in a week of steady exercise i'll feel pretty much back to good.
just get out there and working on it.

harding place Y is starting cardio bellydance for the summer starting on the 25th. anyone else interested?

I understand "fat times." It's a miserable feeling! But wow, you are doing so many incredible things to stay in shape.

I've been working out a lot, but for whatever reason my food cravings have been for really unhealthy food (cheesy, buttery, starchy things...and Mexican food).

Cardio bellydance sounds like a lot of fun! Unfortunately I cancelled my Y memberhship a few months back, rats!

thanks for the encouragement. i'm trying to be convinced that as soon as I get back on schedule this weekend that I'll feel 100% better.

Have you been taking in enough protein? That's something I still struggle with - even though I eat fish now. I was lacto-ovo vegetarian for 6 years until last November.

Most of the time I can listen to my body and will indulge cravings, trusting that my body knows what it needs, as long as I've been eating pretty healthfully.

Don't restrict yourself too much.

I do think I need more protein. I eat fish but very rarely. For some reason I have been craving chicken, which usually means I need some protein pronto!

I need to find a good balance between what I want and what I need. :)

BTW, it's okay to indulge sometimes! Especially if you're working out hard! It keeps you sane. You know, I had a chicken craving recently (I'm pescatarian) and I ate chicken, and it was aweful. So it was just that I wanted some solid protein. I stick to tuna now...yumm from Subway...

That class sounds fun - I took a few bellydance classes once & really liked it. My abs could use it more regularly.
