Wondering something
Hey gang, I know a lot of people are doing the new year resolution thing, thought of something that might help.

I've been keeping a LJ log every time I go to the gym or excersize for the past 21 weeks, I wonder if anyone is up for posting their progress in here / perhaps make a "biggest loser" sort of theme?

Just a thought

Heh, have you been watching "The Biggest Loser" marathon too? I'm up for it...I started going to the gym in November. Glad to see someone finally posting in this community.

I just caught the end of it.

I've been doing my own thing for 4 months now, noticed my gym is next to unusable now with all the new year's resolutions people there and figured perhaps now was a time to start and see if we can get some sort of mutual motivation, walking groups, perhaps a fight club or something...

Biggest loser was interesting, but I wonder how long these people will live after that sort of quick weight loss... it was way too much too fast. Maybe not the greatest example to give the world.

Motivator to start definately.

I go to the Y and can hardly get a treadmill now with all the resolution people there. I wish they would hurry up and give up cause you know they aren't going to stay for long. :)

Who knows how long the people on the show can keep it off. It's a tv show afterall. The more dramatic their weightloss is, the higher the ratings. But it's not real life. In real life it's harder to lose weight.

How much have you lost in 4 months?

I'm more wondering how long they will live - that much weight loss can cause heart problems, along with every other sort of problem. People are not designed to lose half their body weight in 4 months.

if I am not mistaken, in 4 months I have lost 8 pounds. However, weight loss was not my goal, fat loss and energy gain was, and since I don't have a fat testing scale I can't tell.

Dropped a couple inches around my waist, gained about 2 inches in my arms, legs have a little fat left, but mostly are rock solid now. Face looks better as my chin decided to un-pudge (didn't have a second chin, but some fat down there, mostly gone now)

How long you been at it?

According to farkers the new year's craze generally lasts 3 weeks

bout a year ago I was going to the gym a lot and lost about 40 pounds. Then life got in the way, graduation, moved, traveled, etc. and stopped exercising. I not only gained what I lost but also an extra 30 POUNDS!!!! Yes, I gained 70 pounds last year. I lost my father over Christmas so that didn't help either. Anyways, I've been going 4-5 times a week for a couple of weeks. I'm up to 65 minutes of non-stop cardio. I'll add weights to tone once I lose some of this horrible flubber.
